This post is a little late! But better late than never! Right? Our family ended 2011' at a friend’s house. We had a great time. The girls stayed up with us till 4:00 am. They fell asleep on the drive back home from another friend’s house. My kid’s party hard. Just like their momma and daddy! Ha! I feel blessed to have rung up the New Year with my loves and great company. However, I did miss my family like crazy. I still haven't gotten use to living so far from them. We had an amazing new year, but little did I know what was going to happen the next few weeks.
That same New Year night Miss Diva throws up. I figured it was eating too many sweets and running around playing. Well, turns out she was coming down with a stomach virus. Poor baby was sick for like a week. Then right when Ms. Diva got better, Miss. Sassy started having some pretty high fevers. It took me 4 days to break that fever. I was so happy to see her feeling better.
That same night I told Mr. Wrong I had a pain in my ear. He told me it was probably a pimple in my ear and to leave my ear alone. The next day, I was in really bad pain. I would like to add, I am one of those people that doesn’t take medication unless I am dyeing! I couldn’t hold the pain no more. I dressed the twins and myself and head to the ER. The ER was not full and boy was I happy about that. It's not fun to be in pain and have to run around two toddlers in a busy ER. Turns out I had an ear infection (swimmers ear). God knows how I managed to get that infection? I was sent home that day with ear drops. I have never had an ear infection before. And had no idea how painful and horrible an ear infection can be. I took the drops just like the doctor asked. But my pain was getting worse and worse. I was popping Motrin like candy. Every time, the Motrin will wear off, the pain will come back. After talking to a few friends, I decided it will be best to head back to the ER. The doctor there told me that the inside of my ear was close and that the meds were not going in. He then put a wick in my ear and gave me strong pain meds. I took the pain meds only at night, because I can't be drugged up having to little ones running around the house. And finally three days later I was cure!!
I decide to clean the house and get everything back on track and then notice Ms. Diva is running a fever that was scary high 104.8 F. This scared the crap out of me! I gave her meds and the fever would only go down to 101.5 F. I had her on Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen every 3 hours. On the third day I took her into the Pedi and had her tested for the flu and strap throat and both came back negative. The doctor told me that if the next day she was still running that high fever to come back for blood work. That night I finally broke her fever. I was so happy to think I can rest again.
Guess what? The Drama Queen started a fever last weekend and I been fighting to break her fever now. (Sigh) I really prefer for my kids to get sick all at the same time. And this is how my new year has been so far. Totally different from last year click HERE to check out last years post.
Anyways, I did take the bottle from the girls, potty train one out of the two and feeling very blessed. I am also staying positive this year. And don't feel a day older than 18 (wink, wink).
